Timber frame and porch construction
Make the most of your outdoor space all year round
All of our timber frame buildings are bespoke manufactured using tried and tested traditional jointed techniques. Typically most of these structures are built using construction grade greek oak, either QP1 or QPA grade. Green oak has usually been air dried for 3-6 months so will continue to dry and crack after it has been fitted. This usually is not a problem as it adds to its rustic look and character. If a more honed perfect finish is required then a kiln dried and full treated timber may be more suitable.
Roofing construction can usually be dictated by the intended use of the structure. Glass can be used to increase natural light within, or you can go for a more traditional slate or cedar shingle.
When it comes to finishing options green oak can be left untreated due to its superior weathering characteristics. Although oil can be used to enhance and preserve the timbers colour.
